Counseling offers families an opportunity to connect with one another and cultivate their love and support for each other. Family dynamics are complex—the actions of one family member can affect the rest of the members, sometimes in long-lasting ways. We often develop relational patterns within families that we accept as normal, yet underneath the surface, these patterns may have debilitating effects. Family relationships can become even more stressful during a transition or after a traumatic event such as divorce or the death of a relative. As a family counselor, I can help you and your loved ones address any communication issues, break free from harmful patterns, and learn to love and serve one another in new ways.

Counseling is a safe place to address underlying issues and develop healthy relational dynamics. Sometimes it is the only place a family can slow down enough to ask the hard questions and take a good look at their relationships. My aim as a therapist is to facilitate helpful conversation, and encourage openness and respect that will allow your family to understand one another better. In session, we will practice relationship-building skills and learn techniques for developing trust and support. I will also work with your family to address any unique issues that may be preventing you from loving one another fully. While family can be a source of stress in our lives, it can also be a place of enormous strength and encouragement. I would be thrilled to help your family discover the joy that is possible through positive communication and unconditional support.
