Educational and experience

After completing my BA in Individual and Family Development at Seattle Pacific University, I returned to SPU to earn my MS in Marriage and Family Therapy, with the view of pursuing my vocation to counseling. I began my training as a counselor at a Seattle-based community mental health center, where I counseled individuals, couples, and families facing a variety of issues. From there I have gained extensive experience working with individuals and families in a group practice setting and now in private practice. I feel honored to walk with each client through some of their most challenging and joyful moments.

My Call to Counseling

My call to counseling has evolved from my own life experience. Having grown up as the oldest of four in a large extended family, I spent my whole life interacting with relatives and watching the dynamics of families change through major life events. Throughout my developmental years I witnessed individuals and families struggles with disabilities, cancer, loss, major life transitions, divorce and mental illness. It was through this time that I developed an understanding for the importance of professional support through major life events, which spurred a desire to build my career in a helping profession.  Early on I spent more than a decade working in various capacities with children and parents facing a number of challenges and eventually realized that counseling was a way I could truly serve and support individuals and families in some of their most vulnerable moments. Throughout my training and work experience, I have only grown more and more excited about this wonderful vocation to serve those who come to my office.

More About Me

I was born and raised on the Puget Sound and love anything to do with the beach and boating. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 11+ years and we enjoy running, boating, cooking, playing pickleball and quality time with our three daughters, family, and friends. I also have a heart for host and hospitality, which is why I love to make my office (both in person and virtual) one that is inviting and calming to all who enter . My faith is also an important part of my life and shapes both who I am personally and professionally.
